Beckley Bank merger brings the same friendly faces with a host of new technologies

BECKLEY, W.Va. (WVVA) — A Beckley Bank offers the same friendly faces behind the counter with new service opportunities. Today, Wednesday May 18, the bank, formerly known as BB&T, celebrated its grand opening as “Truist”.

This new brand is a merger of BB&T and SunTrust Banks. The change has been in the works since 2018 and was publicly announced the same year.

Jordan Wooldridge, business banking manager for Truist’s West Virginia region, said that while they have a new name and brand, many things will remain the same. One thing that changes, however, is their ability to serve the community.

“We have similar footprints,” Wooldridge said of BB&T and SunTrust. “It kind of expanded our territory to a few states that we weren’t already in, but it’s, you know, a lot of the same faces, the same bank, the same branches still there to serve like we used to. ”

Wooldridge says the bank is excited to use SunTrust’s new technology to create a better customer experience. According to him, thanks to a new telephone application, individuals can meet all their banking needs from the comfort of their homes.

Truist is located on Robert C Byrd Drive across from Beckley Crossing Shopping Centre.
